This training will help public water systems be better prepared to implement water restrictions upon regional drought declarations. It will also provide an overview of the Water Management Act and the differences between “registered” and “permitted” source water withdrawals. Important information about what triggers a utility’s need to institute water restrictions and how they must be implemented will be provided.
Case studies from four communities (Southwick, Ipswich, Harwich and Chelmsford) will be presented to provide examples of the range of issues encountered and the various strategies employed.
The training is approved for 2.5 Training Contact Hours.
